Happy New Year!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our lovely customers for supporting Royal River Books over the last 8 years.  I am happy to report that 2015 was our best year ever!  The Christmas season was a lot busier than I had anticipated and I appreciate your patience as we helped everyone as quickly as we could.

I would also like to thank my incredible staff, Becky, Heather, Leslie, Yulia, and Sarah.  They all worked late into the night receiving new inventory and getting the store ready for another busy day.  The staff treat the store as their own and are excellent about ordering new and unique items to carry.

Now is the time to look back on 2015 and take note of the things that worked well and identify areas for improvement.  I welcome your feedback at amy@royalriverbooks.com.  We have limited space in the store so we have to be selective in what we carry and how we organize.  Most of my favorite books have been recommendations from customers.  We love to hear about new or interesting books that we can add to our inventory.

I am excited about 2016.  It’s a leap year.  I am looking forward to watching the summer Olympics in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.  My son starts kindergarten.  And, hopefully, it will be another great year at Royal River Books.

I have never been very good about New Year’s resolutions.  However, I did come up with a great system for organizing the kid’s Legos at Christmas that had improved my life ten-fold.  So, perhaps I could continue this organizational kick in 2016.  In case others are feeling so inclined, I will make sure I have plenty of copies of the recent bestseller, “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing”.

Exercise and weight loss are always hot when it comes to New Year’s resolutions.  Yarmouth is home to a very talented runner and author, Jen Van Allen.  She is the author of “The Runner’s World Big Book of Marathon and Half-Marathon Training”, “The Runner’s World Big Book of Running for Beginners” and the newly released, “Run to Lose: A Complete Guide to Weight Loss for Runners”.  All of these are available at Royal River Books.

I look forward to seeing a lot of familiar faces this year and hopefully some new ones as well!  Royal River Books is located at 355 Main Street in Yarmouth Village.  We are open 10-5 Monday through Saturday.  There is street parking and parking behind the building.
