Amy

Meet Amy

Amy opened Royal River Books because she loves to read.  Her parents didn't let her watch very much television growing up, but she looked forward to their monthly trip to the bookstore with bright-eyed anticipation.  She still feels that same excitement whenever she walks into a bookstore.  Now she gets to bring her little ones (Lila and Sawyer) into Royal River Books and watch as they discover new books and pick their favorites.

Amy and her husband Pete grew up in Cape Elizabeth and returned to Maine to raise their family.  Pete did the renovation work for Royal River Books - you may have seen his McNaughton Construction signs around town.

If you don't see Amy at the bookstore, she may be in Asheville, NC working on her other passion.  She has a Maine seafood restaurant in the mountains of Western North Carolina.  If you find yourself in Asheville with a craving for Maine lobster, you can always get your fix at The Lobster Trap.
