Meet Susie

Susan Coes moved to Maine from Connecticut where she had lived and worked all of her life.

She is the mother of three and the grandmother of eight.

Susan's career was in public relations and fundraising. She served as the Vice President for Development and Public Relations at Newington Children's Hospital for a decade before joining the Governor Weicker administration as Director of Communications for the Connecticut Department of Health. After Weicker left office, Susan was named manager of the Metro Hartford News Bureau and later served as Press Secretary for the Mayor of New Haven, John DeStefano.

After her retirement, she was a part-time sales associate for Borders' Books. Susan was the first employee hired by Amy for Royal River Books in 2008. Daisy (her cockapoo) arrived the following year.
